York Flood Alleviation Scheme

ATM have recently been contracted on the York Flood Alleviation Scheme for BAM Nuttall (York B11) This is a scheme we are very proud to be a part of, in doing our bit to keep the City and its residents safe in an area with a considerable history of flood events.

During the work undertaken, we removed approximately 15 mature trees and re-located 8 other trees. Around the re-located trees, our operatives installed City of York Council specification tree guards.

The team were also tasked to re-pollard a mature Willow tree.

Pollarding is a pruning system involving the removal of the upper branches of a tree, which promotes the growth of a dense head of foliage and branches.

ATM carried out additional works on the Flood Alleviation Scheme, direct for the Environmental Agency (York B4), where ATM planted 16 extra heavy standard trees, 813 Shrubs, 320 bulbs and 106m of Ornamental Hedge.

We look forward to returning to this site, to see how the growth has progressed.
