Here at ATM, we are proud to be one of the UK’s leading Vegetation Management contractors and our team are extremely busy on various contracts in the run up to Summer.

One of our recent completions, was a vegetation clearance project undertaken by ATM for Costain, carrying out improvements on the A1 from Birtley to Coalhouse, North East England, as part of a major new Road Improvement Scheme.

There are some great pictures here from one of our Operatives of our machinery in use, which included:

- Kobelco 14-ton c/w Woodcracker Tree Shear

- Greentech 942 Whole Tree Chipper

- Kubota 8-ton c/w grab and Engcon tilt rotator

The blue lights on the Kobelco provide a visual safety exclusion zone around the excavator. This is to act as a warning to anyone working in close proximity to the machine and to stop pedestrian workers getting too close.

As part of the clearance and our efforts in helping to reduce waste and the company’s carbon footprint, the woodchip removed is being sent to the Biomass Power Station at Middlesbrough.
