Veg Maintenance for National Highways

ATM are carrying out ongoing maintenance work for National Highways on the A38 between Exeter and Plymouth.

These large-scale overnight works include Pine overstorey removals, hazardous tree removal, Ash dieback removal, and will involve subsequent tree renewals, which will improve the roadside aesthetics, improve the structure of the landscape plots, and help to increase safety and visibility for road users.

Mechanisation of all operations was prioritised to reduce manual intervention and maximise outputs within the safety of partial and full road closures, with skilled Arborists and Groundsmen dealing with problematic locations where required.

All timber and branch wood were chipped away to leave a clean and tidy site, and all woodchip introduced into the biomass energy supply chain.

Here is the team having a quick hot chocolate fix to see them through the night shift!

Thanks go to all our supply chain partners for their continued effort and support to our national operations.
