ATM joins forces with the Armed Forces Covenant

ATM is proud to announce that we have been approved to be awarded bronze status in the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy, and society they serve with their lives.

For those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, the Covenant focuses on helping members of the Armed Forces community have the same access to government and commercial services and products as any other citizen who has served in the past, and their families should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services. Special consideration is appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given most, such as the injured and the bereaved.

We recognise the contribution that Service personnel, reservists, veterans, the cadet movement, and military families make to our organisation, our community and to the country. We will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant by:

• Promoting the Armed Forces: by publicising our Armed Forces Covenant on our website and displaying the Armed Forces Covenant logo

• Veterans: supporting the employment of veterans, recognising military skills and qualifications in our recruitment and selection process; working with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to support the employment of Service leavers;

• Service Spouses & Partners: supporting the employment of Service spouses and partners; partnering with the Forces Families Jobs and providing flexibility in granting leave for Service spouses and partners before, during and after a partner’s deployment.

• Employment support to members of the Armed Forces Community: we pledge to offer every veteran an interview for the role they have applied for. If we determine they are not suitable for our advertised role, we will endeavour to signpost them to other opportunities.

We look forward to working alongside the Covenant to welcome those who have served in the Armed Forces to ATM.
