Getting ready for winter

Working in collaboration with the Environment Agency, ATM teams have recently taken part in special flood incident response training with the Wessex Incident Preparedness (WIP) team. The aim of the training is to provide resilience throughout the winter months and support the Environment Agency’s field team capacity in the event of a major flood incident.

The sessions are part of a national programme of training that is being carried out across six of the Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) frameworks that ATM work on for the Environment Agency. Operatives have been educated in the deployment of specialist Environment Agency equipment including temporary defences, mobile pumps and sandbags.

ATM Contract Manager, Adam Smith said: “We are always looking at ways in which we can add value to the service we provide to our clients. Supporting the Environment Agency with resilience in the event of a major incident demonstrates the benefit of close collaboration with key suppliers”.
