Last week we carried out the first of two visits to Newsham Burn in Blyth Northumberland, on behalf of the Environment Agency.

Here the team completed grass cutting along a channel. Once cut, we then rake and remove the grass.

This is to ensure the cut grass arisings do not block any screens further downstream, which in turn, has potential to cause a flood.
