We were recently contacted by BAM Nuttall to collaborate in the community, at Low Road Primary School in South Leeds.

Low Road and Windmill Primary Schools provide a unique and relevant curriculum for the 21st Century. They are proud of the range and quality of learning activities in their schools and are unique in the Leeds Authority in offering a fully immersive, music rich curriculum, in partnership with Opera North.

“Our Vision is to be a successful Federation that offers a welcoming and safe learning environment, with a positive ethos that promotes achievement, good health, good behaviour and respect for all. To strive for excellence in all aspects of our work, through determination, pride, effort and an aspirational approach to every individual. To help children to believe 'They can because they think they can'.”

The Class Dynamix school choir even auditioned for Britain's Got Talent last year, making it all the way to the semi-finals!

It has been a tough year for children and schools during the pandemic, so it was wonderful to be able to give something back to the community, and help Low Road prepare for the new school year ahead.

Our mission was to seed 650m2, along with laying 180m2 of turf, ensuring an immediate visual impact was made around the school.

We also planted four ornamental Pear trees free of charge for the school, which we sourced from local suppliers, Johnsons of Whixley.

Here is a lovely email we received from the school’s Executive Headteacher, Andy Gamble:

"I just wanted to take the time to email my gratitude and thanks to you, regarding how professional, courteous and helpful your team have been whilst on our school site.

As you will no doubt be aware, the children have had a rough passage during the covid period and we are keen to get some sense of normality back for them. Part of that is giving them the lovely grounds of school that they deserve.

This has been a challenge with the works in the area. Notwithstanding, your gentlemen have done their utmost to accommodate the school's casually imparted wish list, and this has left us feeling very humble and in admiration of your generosity.

On behalf of the whole school community, many thanks for making our day a lot brighter, and bringing some hope back for us."
